Column supported flat slabs offer numerous benefits when designing the layout of industrial and commercial buildings. They make it possible to include non-load bearing partition walls, reduced formwork and reinforcement costs, and permit interior finishing right up to the ceiling without any problems, and full use to be made of the floor height.
read moreThe high load transfer around the columns on flat slabs and foundation slabs can lead to punching shear failure. Schöck Bole® solves this both safely and cost-effectively: the reinforcement is ready for installation and assures optimum force absorption around the column area, thus resisting punching shear. In doing so, Schöck Bole® offers enhanced scope for delicate architectural design – with no need whatsoever for column drop beams, drop panels or column heads.
This system is technically approved in both Europe and the UK and has a CE/UKCA marking, providing assurance of safety wherever the product is used.
The Schöck Bole® is a punching shear reinforcement consisting of double-headed studs with spacing bars to secure correct positioning. The different types of schock Bole® allow simple and time-saving installation whether you choose to install before or after placing of the slab reinforcement.
All Schöck Bole® types are supplied ready for installation and provide a reliable solution to the problem of punching shear in flat slabs.
This reinforcement technology enables easier, faster installation on site. The Schöck Bole® type U is designed for installation before the lower mat, the Schöck Bole® type O for installation after the top reinforcement layer, and the Schöck Bole® type F was developed for use in slabs manufactured at precast plants and is optimally adapted to the processes in an automated production.
